The critical thing to note here is that it was not a business at first. A series of experiments lead these visionary people to create something that still has its class. Seventy years after the first experiment of aviation sunglasses, in 1999, the world's largest conglomerate in the eyewear industry, the Luxottica group bought the brand for 640 Million US Dollars.
